This is probably the first embarrassing moment Hector and I have shared together. Definitely not something to add to the most romantic list. Okay here's the story:
It was Sunday night and Hector and I were finishing watching a movie. It was pretty late, around 12:30. The baby had been asleep for a while and Hector and I were about to go to bed. Earlier I had smelled a funny smell, but didn't think anything of it and didn't mention anything. Hector went to let Toby out for the night, and when he came back upstairs he asked if I could smell a weird smell. I said yes I could and we pondered what it could be.
Hector suggested that it could possibly be a gas leak. I said i didn't think so and we pondered a minute more and then I said I was going to bed and he said "okay, but if that smell is a gas leak, none of us will wake up in the morning."..............................Fine! Lets investigate. We walked the house over and over through all the rooms and by about 2:30 we were a little baffled. We decided that we would call the police station, not 911, just the station and ask if it sounded like it could be a problem or not.
I called and a girl answered and said that she couldn't smell the smell so she could not tell us over the phone and wanted to send someone over to test the air in our home with this little meter. We didn't want to make this a bigger deal than it needed to be, but agreed anyway. So i waited and watched for a police car and soon one pulled up. I stepped outside and began describing the smell. After I finished, he just sat there and I said "Do you want to come in and see about it?" and he said he wouldn't be testing, that would be the fire department. Just then, you could here the engine from a mile away, and sure enough a few seconds later a large red fire truck pulled in front of the house, followed by AN AMBULANCE!!! Talk about blowing things out of proportion! Next thing I know is 15 fireman dressed from head to foot in their fire gear and 2 EMT's come trotting into the house. I followed them downstairs to test the air. By this time I was PRAYING there was a leak! But no, it read a zero. The fireman made a unanimous decision that the smell was being brought into the house from Utah Lake....my face is around 4 shades of red at this point. Then we also got a scolding about have boxes by our furnace and they made us move them. Oh my goodness... I couldn't have found a hole deep enough to crawl into.

Kim- the pictures you took of Tucker are sooo cute! Can I already reserve a photoshoot from you of our little man even though he won't be here until Oct? :) I hope you are doing well- we need to go to lunch sometime soon.
Wow! I am so sorry...it makes for a great story though! So, where in Lehi are you? We're in the north-west region...away from grocery stores, malls, civilization, etc. Okay, it's not that bad. We're about 2 miles south of Thanksgiving Point. We'll have to have a shindig sometime!
