My friend Laura came over the other night. A movie night was in order since my boy was gone. Sweet, wonderful Laura came and after I put Gabe to bed we put in a movie (that shall remain nameless because I won't be known as the girl with 2 posts about the same book...) But I quickly realized what a difference it is watching a chick flick with a girl vs. oh.... my hubby. I love you, dearest hubby, and I appreciate that you are always willing to watch a chick flick with me. BUT, during this movie session, here is the thing that was missing but not missed.
- Commentary, expressing what the actors "must be thinking!" (I certainly hope that men do not think those thoughts THAT often!)
- Watching and when one of those parts come up, not being the only one in the room to gasp, sigh and mumble something to the effect of "I wish that would happen to me..." or "Oh wow...." Then looking at your friend and without a word you both know that your feeling giddy and couldn't talk if you wanted to.
I love you Babe and I am always the one that raises the "cheesy" flag in all your movies, but girls night in takes the cake for enjoying a good chick flick. Thanks Laura!

LOL - that night was wonderful!!! Thanks so much for having me over! I have been wanting to watch "that movie" with you just to get your take on it - so, so fun! It's true... watching chick flicks with the girls really is the best way to go... Let's put another girl's night in on the schedule!
