Easter

The Easter bunny came to our house too. Sharing his joy of egg hunts and sugar highs. This Easter was the first one that Gabe really grasp the concept. I repeatedly heard statements like "The Easter Bunny puts the Easter baskets in his mouth to carry them huh Mom?"or "The Easter Bunny will open our door at night to come in and hide his eggs huh?"

Well, that must have been what happened, cause when we woke up Easter morning, there were lots of eggs to be found and some to be forgotten until discovered later while moving couch pillows or putting on your shoes.
This was the best morning ever for Gabe. His favorite things. Hide and Go Seek and candy. He did pretty well at finding them on his own. He did struggle however trying to open the eggs. AS I watched him throw them on the ground to break them open, I remembered watching a discovery show about birds who throw their acorns on the road to have it run over and reveal the nut to eat.
His Easter basket, being hidden by only 1 small pillow, was walked by and overlooked for about 15 minutes. But eventually he found it! One of it's contents is a candy tube with a small bird on top that plays a song when you move it. No, not when you push a button... ANY TIME it feels motion. This treat has already mysteriously disappeared.

Isn't he freaking cute? My gosh, what a heart breaker.

This makes me nervous. I have still have nightmares of multi colored hard wood floors and tie die shirts and kitchen towels. But we made it! We colored them and our fingers too. It was lots of fun!

The end result. Well, almost. We are waiting for them to dry. This was just like watching paint dry, or grass grow. But eventually we could color and have fun decorating them.

Meet Eggbert, Rudy, and Shelley. (name the cartoon :) We had fun! It is much harder to peel an egg when it has eyes looking at you. I could have sworn I saw a tear roll down Eggberts shell :)

This is Gabe attempt at a silly face to match the eggs. They could be related!
